A well chosen piece of Alder can be very similar in tone to a very nice lightweight piece of Ash.

It can be a very musical wood, offering a very nice balance of mids and warmth, as long as it is a nice light weight piece, such as the unfinished body of this incredible sounding Bass seen at the right side of this page.

I have a limited amount of very nice, seasoned light weight pieces of Alder, that will make excellent sounding instruments.
